It was a historic moment on March 19, 2016 on the island of St. Helena. The 184 (!) Year old turtle named Jonathan in the video, according to the government, was washed for the first time in its almost two hundred year history. There, the dirt from generations literally fell off.

It is well known that turtles can grow very old. But a 184 year old giant tortoise is a sensation. Jonathan is probably the oldest known turtle on our planet. And as a real star, the senior's tank should also shine. Veterinarian Dr. Joe Hollins takes on the task and scrubs the sprightly pensioner spick and span.
