Rosie's dog beach

I haven't had much time to play on the beach, or any beach, lately, so I decided I should finally post about my adventures on Rosemary Beach and the Gulf of Mexico. My first beach trip as a mother of two toddlers was a very rewarding experience, and it made me feel like I was on vacation again.
We went to Rosemary Beach last Thursday, after the twins' daycare closed for the summer. Rosemary Beach is a beautiful beach just east of Fort Walton Beach, and it's very easy to get there. There are no highways or busy roads nearby, so if you have a 4-wheel drive you can drive there easily.
I found a great deal on the beach from the Best of Fort Walton Beach Beach Guide. It included the $1.50 dog beach fee, and it said it was $1.00 to walk on the beach. I also got a free beach umbrella, free parking and a 50¢ discount at the concession stand. I really wasn't planning on buying anything at the concession stand anyway, but I'll take free. If you don't have a free parking space, the parking is $5.00 for all day, which seemed like a good deal.
I was worried the parking lot would be full, but it wasn't. I'm not sure if that's because the beach was so busy or because there were so many empty spaces. There is a nice grassy area just behind the parking lot where people can park to walk to the concession stand, but that area was completely full, so I just parked near the back of the lot.
Once you park, you will need to pay $1.50 for the dog beach. That's a little steep for a few dog treats, but I'm not picky about the dog beach fee, so I'm willing to pay it. It's a nice little beach, and I think it would be nice for little kids to play on it.
We met my friend, Mary, at the beach. She also got a free parking space, and when she arrived, the parking lot was mostly empty. We walked to the concession stand, and we had a very nice day. I would highly recommend Rosemary Beach to anyone. It was such a beautiful day, and the kids had a great time running around on the beach and playing in the sand.

I'm working on some new blog posts. Hopefully this weekend, I'll be able to post some pics of the twins playing in the sun at the beach. I also need to post some pics of our last night in Myrtle Beach and what I did to get ready for the trip. I'm still working on it.

Today was the day for our twins to start daycare for the summer. We got an e-mail from the daycare that they would be closed for the summer, so we went to the park at the beach, and they played in the sand until their nap. They have to get up at 7:30 a.m. for the day, so they got up a little before 6:30 a.m. and were really cranky for a while.
It was a gorgeous morning for a swim in the ocean. We swam in the ocean for quite a while, and then we took the kids on the beach for a while. They love to run around in the sand, and we spent most of the morning on the beach. The waves were high for most of the morning, so they played in the waves, and we all sat on the beach for a while.
Then we made a quick breakfast for the kids and took them back to the beach for a little while longer.
We had our final breakfast on the beach. We had a nice view of the ocean as we ate our breakfast. They had some fun eating their omelets on the sand. I just love our little family, spending the summer at the beach.

Yesterday was a great day for a day trip. The kids have never been to the zoo, so we were excited for that. It was a long drive to the zoo, but we got there in good time and had lots of fun. The zoo is very small, so there wasn't a lot for the kids to do, but there was plenty of space for everyone. We saw lots of animals, and we really enjoyed the zoo.
The zoo is just northeast of our hometown of Clearwater Beach, and it's easy to drive there. There's a free parking lot on the zoo grounds, so you don't have to pay for parking. If you want to take the boat to the zoo, the parking fee is $2.00, which seems like a lot, but we didn't pay it. It was nice not to have to pay for parking. It was also nice to see the beautiful beach on the way there.
When we arrived, we went right to the dolphin exhibit and watched the dolphins play in the water. The kids were very fascinated by the dolphins, especially their antics in the water. They spent most of the time watching the dolphins. We got some great pics, and I'll post some pics of the dolphins later this week.
The dolphin show at the zoo was amazing! It was really entertaining, and the kids loved it.
After we watched the dolphins, we took a tour of the zoo. It was smaller than I expected, but it
